Like many schools, St Patrick’s College, Launceston is coming to the end of their academic year, and, as is the case this time of year, the winding down of academic pursuits starts and celebrations begin as end of year festivities occur. This past Monday afternoon/early evening saw just such an occasion at St Patrick’s College, where the college’s fantastic music teacher, Ms. Fiona Mowat, held a college get-together for their musicians and families, making it a real community affair.
Appropriately enough, it was called the ‘The Muso’s Breakout’, and featured many carnival type activities such as three-legged races, an egg and spoon race, a “Flintsone’s” styled boat race, a magnificent jumping castle, swimming in the indoor pool, plus a great barbeque and the perennial favourite, Fairy Floss.
Eagle Security Services (Tas) Pty. Ltd. was asked if we would help support this school community event, which we were more than happy to do, donating the services of our Director and Manager for the event. Being the ‘Security Conscious’ pair, they had to ensure that all food and drink was safe and fit for human consumption, and that the integrity of the jumping castle was up to scratch.
It was a great fun evening, that even included a visit from a lolly-hurling festive character in a red suit! All the participants, with the exception of Eagle Security Services senior staff (we had his best interests at heart), rallied around Santa Claus to receive a treat or two, including those many mums and dads present, demonstrating that the child lives on in us all.
Eagle Security Services (Tas) Pty. Ltd. would like to take this opportunity to thank the musicians and their families, and the staff of St Patrick’s College for asking a us to share in their wonderful event, and wish them a very Merry Christmas and beginning to their holiday season.
